Fund Accounting and IFRS Insights

This course is meticulously designed to equip the participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in fund management and financial reporting. Earn 36 CPD points while mastering the intricacies of Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting, covering the regulatory framework for fund structures in Mauritius, the roles and responsibilities of a Fund Accountant and the various stages of a fund’s life cycle. The participants will gain comprehensive knowledge of equity, debts and compound instruments under IFRSs, along with insights into derivatives and Hedge Accounting under IFRS 9, and the computation of management fees and performance fees under IFRS 15. Additionally, the course explores concepts like hurdle rates, high water marks, catch-up provisions, income and expense allocation in multi-funds, crystallization and equalization. The participant will also master NAV calculation for different types of funds, P/NAV, expense ratio computation, deferred tax assessment, withholding tax, preparation of complex investment workings as per IFRS 9, fair value determination of financial instruments under IFRS 13, and financial statement preparation under IFRSs tailored specifically for funds.
